Padraig MacMiadhachain West Bay 28-IV-87 (2)

Padraig MacMiadhachain (Irish 1929 – 2017) born in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland. He studied at Belfast College of Art, National College of Art in Dublin, then studied at the Akademia Sztuk (Academy of Art), Kracow. In 1953 he settled in Swanage, Dorset. Travelling extensively and incorporating a rich colour pallete from warmer climes, it’s his Dorset pictures and especially the wonderful St. Aldhelm’s Head, that he visited almost daily, which really strike a chord with me. His paintings are in many private and public collections.
